The merino is prized for growing the softest fleece of all sheep breeds. Most New Zealand merino comes from the South Island where the arid climate is ideal for growing high quality fine fibre. Merino is a lovely wool for hand spinning into next-to-skin soft yarn, or felting into a soft, smooth felt. Choose from carded roving/sliver or combed top fibre preparations.
