This is the single drive version of Ashford's best selling wheel, enjoyed for its traditional styling and practical features. Choose from plenty of "add-ons" to accommodate all spinning styles. Although the Traditional has been designed as a single treadle wheel, a second treadle can be added if you wish. This wheel comes in kit form and assembly is required.

Lazy Kate: The Traditional's lazy kate is not tensioned. Many spinners find it easier to ply when there's some tension present to stop the bobbins overspinning. See the Competition Lazy Kate.
Natural or Lacquered? Keep in mind that if you choose "lacquered" for your wheel and then choose an "add-on" accessory, this "add on" may only be available with a "natural" (unlacquered) finish.
Finishing Your Wheel: If you choose the "natural" option, the wheel and accessories are easy to finish yourself with wax polish, wood oil or get creative with some paint!
